Privacy Policy

Overview

Everyplace ("we", "our", "us") is a place-saving app. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app uses, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Everyplace does not require account creation. Most data is stored in your app data and, if enabled on your device, your private iCloud account. We do not sell personal data or use data for advertising tracking.

Information the App Processes

Depending on features you use, Everyplace may process:

How We Use Information

We use this information to:

Data Storage and Sync

Saved place data is stored using Apple technologies on your device. If iCloud is enabled, this data may sync to your private iCloud/CloudKit storage associated with your Apple ID.

Third-Party Services

Everyplace relies on Apple services such as MapKit, Core Location, StoreKit, and CloudKit. Apple processes information under its own privacy policy.

Depending on the features you use, place search, details, and photos may use Google Places. Everyplace sends the search text, requested map-center coordinate and radius, or the place details needed for the request to an Everyplace proxy hosted by Vercel. The proxy forwards the necessary request to Google. It does not attach the Mixpanel installation identifier to these requests. Google and Vercel may process request and network metadata under their respective Google and Vercel privacy policies. We require service providers that process data for Everyplace to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law.

Anonymous Product Analytics

Everyplace uses Mixpanel to understand aggregate product usage. Mixpanel assigns a random identifier to an installation so events from that installation can be counted over time. Everyplace does not connect this identifier to an account, name, email address, or other real-world identity, and does not use Mixpanel People profiles.

Analytics events may include the app version and build, release or developer-build status, feature interactions and outcomes, and coarse country, region, and approximate city inferred by Mixpanel from the request IP address. Everyplace does not send Mixpanel saved-place names, notes, photos, search text, precise coordinates, purchase product identifiers, purchase history, or premium status. Mixpanel analytics are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Mixpanel processes analytics under its privacy policy.

Shared Place Links

When you choose to share a place, Everyplace stores a public place snapshot behind a random link token using services hosted by Vercel and Upstash. The snapshot may include the place name, address, coordinates, category, locality, country, phone number, website, and provider place identifiers. It does not include your notes, photos, or custom tags. Upstash's privacy policy is available here.

Anyone who has the link may preview the place and open it in Everyplace. Shared-place snapshots currently remain available until we remove them or the sharing service is discontinued. Do not create a share link for a place you do not want available to people who receive the link.

Data Retention

Your saved content is kept until you delete it, use in-app delete actions, or remove the app/iCloud data.

Anonymous Mixpanel analytics are retained for up to two years. Search requests are processed to provide results; Everyplace does not maintain a separate server-side search-history database. Service providers may retain request metadata according to their own policies. Shared-place link retention is described above.

Your Choices

You can manage location, camera, and photo permissions in iOS Settings. You can also export or delete your saved data from app settings and remove iCloud sync by disabling iCloud for Everyplace in your Apple account settings. Deleting saved app data does not automatically remove a public shared-place snapshot that was previously created.

To request deletion of an existing public share link or other data processed by Everyplace, email hello@hobby.design with enough information for us to locate the data, such as the share link. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

Children's Privacy

The app is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date.
